Matt O’Connor, 30 is that good looking, good-natured, knockabout Aussie guy we all know.

He’s the one who values his mates, works with his hands and sets all the girls’ hearts racing with a ready made smile.

Blair describes him as “just a normal bloke; like a lot of guys I went to school with. There’s a bit of Matt in all of us blokes.”

Playing footy for the local first grade side has meant Matt’s never lacked female admirers and has ensured a loyal set of buddies to drink and hang out with. He loves nothing more than getting out on the water to fish with his best mates Callum, Chugga and JB.

Matt is engaged to Bec Gilbert and has been with her for almost 10 years. He loves her, there’s no question about that. He considers her a good woman - a decent, honest person who does right by him and who deserves to be treated right.

Matt let go of Bec in the first series – by calling off the engagement. But ultimately he overcame his apprehensions and realised that Bec really was the one who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. So he proposed – again – and very happily married Bec Gilbert. For a moment everything was perfect...
