MY KITCHEN RULES' most talked about couple Peter and Gary were convincingly beaten in tonight's sudden death cook-off against their Victorian opponents Carly and Emily, becoming the third team eliminated from the show.
It was a youth versus experience grudge match which saw the bubbly sisters triumphant on a score of 51/60. Their three-course menu - consisting of dumplings for entrée, a steamed rock ling main and black rice pudding dessert – wowed the judges.
Their Gold Coast competitors struggled in the kitchen, only managing 17 points for their menu consisting of a cauliflower and spinach soup entrée, kangaroo stroganoff main and custard tartlets for dessert.
There's been no love lost between the two rivals since their group's instant restaurant round, where Peter and Gary received the lowest score from the teams but the second-highest score from the judges.
Despite the bad blood, Peter and Gary were gracious in defeat. "The best team won tonight, no question," Gary said afterwards. Peter added: "What we've always wanted is a good, clean, fair fight. And all power to the girls, they won this round."
Judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel thanked the lawyer and doctor for contributing so much to the show. "What you have brought to this competition is intelligence, humour and also honesty," Pete said.
Peter, dubbed 'Dr Evil' for his biting critiques, thanked his partner of 21 years saying they came on the show for the "journey and adventure."
Gary added: "It's been a rollercoaster. We came for an adventure and we got one!"
