A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a four-wheel-drive in Newcastle.

Police say the collision happened on the intersection of Tudor and Parry Streets at about 8pm on Thursday.

The rider died at the scene.

The four-wheel-drive driver, a 25-year-old man, wasn't injured.

Newcastle police have examined the crash scene and have formally interviewed the four-wheel-drive driver.
