FloodSafe
It is important to be aware of any flood risks that might exist where you live, where you have property and where you work.
Because many homes, farms and businesses across metropolitan and rural areas of NSW are susceptible to flooding, the SES has developed FloodSafe resources for your family, residence, business and rural property that tell you how to better prepare for floods.
StormSafe
Storms can happen anywhere and at any time of the year. Storms are more common in most areas of New South Wales during storm season (from October to the end of March), but it is important to stay ready all year round.
For emergency help in floods and storms call the SES on 132 500

The internet can be entertaining, informative and rewarding. Even so, the same as your day-to-day lives contain risks and challenges, so to does your online life.
As a parent, the role you play in guiding your children towards a safe and positive online experience is an important one. Which is why the team at the Saturday Club have put together some tips and advice to help you and your family make the most of being online.
1. Become aware of how your children use the internet - what they use it for and how they use it. What are their favourite sites? Which social networking sites do they use? Who are their online friends?
2. Encourage your child to talk to you about their internet use. Ask them questions - show a keen interest in the sites they enjoy and spend time with them while they use the internet. You may want to consider having the computer in a visible place in the home so you can monitor its use.
3. Advise your children not to share personal information online with anyone they don't know in real life. They shouldn't allow strangers onto their contact lists on IM or email. If in doubt they should check with you or a trusted adult when adding a new contact to their online social network.
4. Children should keep all passwords secret. Not even their best friends should know what their password is.
And finally, remember to enjoy the internet and all it has to offer!
