"Supanova Pop Culture Expo is where the adoring public comes face to face with Supa-Star celebrities and the creative talent that inspire their imaginary worlds under one big roof." – Supanova website
I am very excited to be attending my first Supanova festival this weekend. I was meant to attend last year but due to circumstances beyond my control I didn't get to go. Although it is also being held in Perth, I will be going to the Sydney event armed with a photographer and my phone to Facebook and tweet all day to you good folk who unfortunately cannot attend.
The expo itself gets massive crowds and has indeed managed to embed itself into our own pop culture and looked forward to by thousands of followers who hang onto every announcement and lineup change similar to that of The Big Day out and Soundwave. The diverse range of stars and exhibitions appeals to such a cross section of the community that it isn't just limited to us devoted geeks and kids.
Everything is covered - video games, movies, TV shows, toys, Pop Culture, animation, comics, books, the internet exclusives, of all different genres including of course Sci fi and fantasy. Download the 2012 magazine here now. There have been a few forced changes in the lineup, that occurred after the mag went to print like the postponing of Adam Baldwin, Elisabeth Rohm and Colin Cunningham, but thankfully we are now being graced with the presence of Tricia Helfer.
People to look forward to this year include the beautiful aforementioned Tricia Helfer, Back to the Future Star Christopher Lloyd , Heroes star Hayden Panettiere just to name a few. And for us gamers we will have the perfect opportunity to meet and have a chat to the boys from Rooster Teeth who created Red vs. Blue amongst other film work. Personally I can't wait to meet Jennifer Hale who is best known for voicing the female Shepard in Mass Effect, Metal Gear, Soul Calibur along with various Star Wars projects. Additionally the lead writer for Family Guy, John Viener, will be there as well.
This is an event I have been told that all Gamers, Comic Book geeks and Anime freaks have to experience, and an experience is what I am expecting. Self confessed Geek Freak that I am!Copyright © 2013 Yahoo!7
