Old Cooma Road is set to get a $1 million upgrade to improve safety for motorists.
Monaro MP John Barilaro said parts of the Googong Dam area have been identified as having a poor crash history.
"In response we have identified these sites as priority for the upgrades," he said.
"While our road toll has been reducing during the past decade, there are still too many people dying on our roads.
"Preliminary figures for 2011 show 376 people died on NSW roads, which is why road safety remains a key priority."
The funding is part of the NSW Government's $170 million, five-year Road Toll Response Package.Copyright © 2013 Yahoo!7
